A car fire in the HOV lanes on Interstate 395 snarled traffic and left one person injured Wednesday night.

The southbound HOV lanes on I-395 were shut down at South Glebe Road just after 6:30 p.m. because of the fire. Arlington and Alexandria fire departments responded.

An Alexandria responder fell from the interstate and into Four Mile Run Creek, Arlington Fire Lt. Gregg Karl told Patch.
