Police: Mob Attacks Man Near Clarendon Metro
Attack allegedly occurred at about 2 a.m. Sunday.
Arlington County police are investigating a report of a mob attacking a man early Sunday morning about a block from the Clarendon Metro station.
Shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday, a man was assaulted by multiple suspects in the 1200 block of North Herndon Street, according to police.
Witnesses told investigators the man was attacked by four to six men, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.
Officers reported no indication that the group knew the man in advance, Sternbeck said. There was nothing to indicate this was gang-related, Sternbeck said.
The man was taken to a Fairfax hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He sustained injuries that required staples, Sternbeck said.
