Parade Causes Clarendon Street Closures

Police will close streets in Clarendon for the Mardi Gras Parade.

Arlington County sent out this release to warn citizens of upcoming street closures:

"The Arlington County Police Department will close Wilson Blvd. in the Courthouse and Clarendon neighborhoods on Tuesday March 8, 2011, for the Clarendon Alliance Mardi Gras Parade.

The affected streets are:

·  Wilson Blvd. from Veitch St. to Barton St. will be closed from 6:45 PM to 9:30 PM

·  Wilson Blvd. from Barton St. to Irving St. will be closed from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM

·  Adams St and Wayne St., between Clarendon Blvd. and Wilson Blvd., will be closed from 6:45 PM to 8:00 PM.

Parade attendees are encouraged to use Metro.  The Courthouse and Clarendon stations on the Orange Line are located near the parade route.

In addition, street parking in the area will be restricted. Motorists should be on the lookout for temporary “No Parking” signs. Illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed or towed. If your vehicle is towed from a public street, call 703-228-4252."
